This message is going to backers of The Scattered Bond. (Hello! And ♥!) If you’ve backed other of my campaigns and/or follow me on social media, you may see this announcement several times! Please forgive us for that - we’re trying to balance being unobtrusive with getting the word out. This is the only message we’ll send about this to this campaign, and we hope you don’t mind us reaching out - and we hope you’ll give it a look! Thanks for your understanding!
We have a big announcement: our first Catalog campaign. We’ve used crowdfunding over the years to help with the initial production costs needed to make the high-quality artistic products that we believe in. We’d still appreciate your help by pre-ordering these products. However, we have so many wonderful things coming out that we’ve decided to combine them - a big ol’ party and we’d love for you to join us. : )
My writing is included in the Catalog - through this campaign, the next four volumes of my Diamondsong series will be available for pre-order, starting with Part 02: Capture, which you would definitely get before the October release by backing.
So here’s how it works: Go to the campaign page at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/atthisarts/atthis-arts-catalog-2018/ and look through our upcoming titles. Follow the instructions there to select an author and reward level. You’re welcome to pick me (I mean?) but I promise I’ll be just as happy if you pick another of these great titles. And you don’t have to stick with only one author - that’s just the easiest way we could set it up for now. Then, after the campaign is over, you’ll be able to add more titles by other authors (only if you’d like to, of course). I promise we are doing everything we can to make this easy and low-hassle for you.
I hope you’ll give all these great titles a look! The details are at the link, but it includes both adult-level speculative fiction as well as lower and upper middle grade fantasy (meaning great reads for elementary and middle school students).

We’re trying to make things happen for our small press so we can continue to publish unique, artistic writing and amplify important issues and voices—and this campaign is a big step in that process.

While I’m filling in some large components of Diamondsong (so much going on!), I’d like to provide a gentle nudge to read and review the Shkode trilogy. The Scattered Bond, which I think turned out really well, only has three reviews on Amazon. Yes, I know! It's a bit sad, and to me personally also. And The Banished Craft, despite years of sales and promotion, has 23 total ratings. This really limits, almost prevents, my online exposure and I think it’s been preventing my acceptance into online promotions as well, which would be a massive help. I stand by this trilogy, and I think it gets better as it goes along. (The story builds, I mean, you know I'm not a "pew pew" writer.)
So if you have the trilogy and haven’t read it, I’d encourage you to add it to your spring reading list. Or if you or anyone you don't know doesn't have it! In fact sometimes Amazon heavily discounts the books (one of the hardcovers is currently $13).

And if you’ve read and enjoyed it, but haven’t rated or reviewed, I’d ask you to please take the time to do so. It helps my ability to promote the series tremendously. I often hear at events, “I wouldn’t know what to say.” Don’t be intimidated by online critics; you don’t need to say the wine has notes of current. All you need to say it that you liked it and that you’d recommend it. (Or who you’d recommend it to.)
These sort of posts are awkward, but I want to make sure each of you know how critical your engagement is to getting the book to be exposed and sell online.

I'm really in love with it and hope you will be too. If you're already a backer, thank you for your support to the project and for letting other people know. Thanks to those of you who have joined us for Part I of Diamondsong.
I won't post again to this campaign until the end, but I did want to encourage you to check out the new series. It's much different than anything I've done and it includes interesting new settings, new characters -- and fairies! Sometimes the themes get overplayed, like oh, Bell is always thinking about stuff. Well, I am. But more importantly - I think this story is a lot of fun. Big, imaginative worlds, rich, complex characters. I do hope you'll give it a look.

And for those of you who have already joined us, sharing the link really is the best thing, especially with a recommendation that you're interested in the series. If it's just me spreading the word, people get tired of it very quickly. There are still also misconceptions about this kind of campaign. While they are common in the gaming world, some in publishing still misunderstand the premise: generating pre-orders to help with up-front costs.
