Latest Updates from Our Project:

Big, big news
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jun 16, 2017 at 04:08:41 PM

Well, we have some big news. Atthis Arts, which means me with it, is moving to Detroit, Michigan to try to dedicate ourselves more fully to the craft of publishing. While I’ll continue working my day job for the time being, this is a big life change, a huge risk, and I assure you we will give it everything we’ve got.

As for The Scattered Bond, it’s all going really well. The ratings on Goodreads have been amazing, the reviews are very positive, and multiple people have sent me messages saying they have literally laughed, cried, or laughed until they cried while reading the finale. The laughing has involved dragons, the crying humans, and well, you can decide what that means.

Things are going so well, we expect to deliver rewards early. We also should have the book available for Bell’s remaining three 2017 Cons: Columbus Wizard World in August (Ohio), Gen Con 50 in August (Indiana), and London Comic Con in October (Ontario). People have been surprisingly willing to buy the whole trilogy at once, so I’ll be glad to be able to offer it to them.

We are going with these awesome blurbs for the back cover. I think these are great and encapsulate exactly what I like about the finale: it’s thoughtful, emotional, dramatic - and sticks the landing too.

“E.D.E. Bell ends the trilogy on a high and deeply compassionate note, with a cast of characters who delve into the very fabric of what makes us human. For lovers of fantasy—or anyone who enjoys an imaginative, well-crafted tale—this book is sure to dazzle and entertain.” - Mark Hawthorne, author of A Vegan Ethic: Embracing a Life of Compassion Toward All

The Scattered Bond wraps up the trilogy in a satisfying manner, with a dramatic climax and a solid conclusion to the various threads of the story.” - Camille Gooderham Campbell, Managing Editor, Every Day Fiction

“Great world building and interesting mix of traditional and non-traditional fantasy.” - Jason Anarchy, Writer, Game Designer

I hope you are all well. We’ve got some moving to do, but then, especially with six book releases in the next four months, expect to hear a lot more from us soon!

Update / Important Note on BackerKit
about 7 years ago – Wed, Apr 05, 2017 at 09:48:32 PM

First, what's going on with the book? It's done! Wow! Ok, I am fussing over whether to make 16 additional changes, and once I've decided on those, it's going off for typesetting, and thus no more fussing on my part. But that's just fine - I'm really happy with it!

Was great seeing some of you at Gem City Comic Con last weekend, and if per chance any of you are in the Saint Louis area, you can catch me at the Comic Con downtown this weekend! So much fun to meet new people and talk about the books. Yay. And I am loving seeing these covers together at last. ♥

-----

One note on BackerKit for US/CAN backers: if you purchased an e-book but decide to add hardcover copies (they are quite gorgeous, just saying) *and* if BackerKit doesn't have your address in the system, it will reportedly default to international shipping rates, which as we all know are quite high. Continue to put your address in, and then it will drop back to the US or CAN rate.

Thanks for your support - if you know anyone who would like to get in on the pre-orders (they ship early) before we close those down, please send them here:

https://the-scattered-bond.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

(Also, thanks, Laura, for sharing out the link with the awesome review. Appreciate it! And to anyone else who has shared it as well.)

And if you have the first two books and haven't started reading them, now is the time! I've been so thrilled getting notes from people who have been reading the series saying how much they are enjoying it. Thank you for reaching out - that means a lot to me.

Thanks again - E

Surveys and Updates
about 7 years ago – Sat, Mar 25, 2017 at 05:15:32 PM

Well, hello, everyone! We have some fun updates, so I'll try to keep it short.

The Book: I'm going through the final review now before typesetting and proofreading. As many times as I've read the book, I'm still enjoying reading it. But it's a lot of work too - I feel like I'm running past the trilogy finish line and waving my baton as I collapse to the ground, so I sure hope you like it. And - we will have hardcovers printed in time for GenCon. (Have I mentioned I am going to GenCon?)

Surveys and Downloads: Check your email for a link to your BackerKit survey. You don't need to create a BackerKit account; just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’ll be all set. You’ll be able to add signature/personalization requests, provide shipping information, and select any desired add-ons. For backers whose rewards include previously published e-books, those will be available for download as soon as you complete your survey. Click the “Get your Digital Downloads” button from your survey confirmation page. (The Scattered Bond e-book will be available in August, prior to the book’s release date.) If your reward or add-ons include hardcover editions of the earlier books, we plan to ship these together with The Scattered Bond. If you would like these signed copies right away or any other changes to your pledge (including upgrading your base pledge level), please send us a private message. Or if you have any questions at all - we're happy to help.

Events: Super excited for Gem City Comic Con (Dayton, Ohio) and Saint Louis Comic Con, the first two weekends in April. If you are in the area for either, I would love to see you!

Kiwi Fiction: As if all that wasn't excitement enough, our urban sci-fi Young Adult duology by E.G. Wilson of Timaru, New Zealand is also now available for pre-order on BackerKit. And we just revealed the titles and covers - I think they are stunning! Sounds fun? Give it a look here: https://voiceless-duology.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Thanks again for all your support! If you haven't read The Banished Craft or The Fettered Flame, now is a great time to get ready for the finale. Also, please do leave ratings and reviews, especially on Goodreads and Amazon. Even a one-line review is great and helps draw attention to the series. Thanks! - E

Thank you! ♥

Well, this is a wrap. Thanks to all 100 of you for believing in me, and I hope you'll love how the trilogy turned out. Rewards will be going out in August - please don’t forget to leave ratings and reviews - and let me know what you think! I love to talk about the story!

This will be my last personal campaign for a while, as I intend to shift gears (in good and exciting ways). But the adventure is just beginning - stay tuned for more from Atthis Arts this year, including the release of the young adult urban sci-fi Voiceless Duology and the second book in the Anna’s Nightmare urban paranormal series.

Please sign up to our newsletter at http://atthisarts.com/about/contact-us/ to keep in touch.

In conclusion, please give a look to these two campaigns:

1) For reasons involving the convolution of cute and nerdy, this is pretty much the coolest Kickstarter I’ve ever seen, and it’s ending soon:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/497057119/rpg-wood-furniture-tavern-inn

2) Today launched a brand new campaign for the Gem City Catfé, a Dayton-area coffee shop that also provides a warm home to local cats. Not local yourself? It’s ok, for $10 you can put your name on a wall in Dayton, like the boss that you are:

Thanks again for what has been quite an adventure these last few years, and one I hope is just beginning. I’m glad to be here with you.

Jwala patted her side pouch, where she’d kept her Airgon’s manual ever since the idea of the Peace Wing first occurred to her. She didn’t know what it meant to keep the book at her side. Perhaps it was inconsistent to hold a tie to a past, when that past did not accept the gon that she’d become. But those had been good days, and in her heart she could not abandon them.

Atesh said there were always answers, but maybe sometimes there weren’t. Sometimes, Jwala thought, it was better just to trust.
